Islamist attacks have scared off thousands of tourists from Paris and its top attractions, helping rob the French capital of about 750 million euros ($850 million) in revenues, officials said on Tuesday.
Strikes and floods have also taken their toll, overshadowing a boost from the Euro 2016 soccer championships and leaving the tourism industry in need of massive new investment and a rescue package, representatives of the sector said.
"It's time to realize that the tourism sector is going through an industrial disaster," the head of the Paris region tourist board, Frederic Valletoux, said in a statement.

Done it. It’s nice but I would not say it’s worth the trip alone. You have to have some other touristy reasons to make a trip over there worthwhile.
Hey there, Paris tourism chiefs: I’ve got your rescue plan right here!
1. Deport all Muslims who show even the least bit of attachment to Sharia law or to any nation other than France. (This right there will knock out at least 90% of them. Then you can more thoroughly vet the remaining 10%, and in so doing kick out at least half of those.)
2. Ensure that they never return, by any means necessary. And stop importing anyone else from any Third World country.
3. Clean up the mess they left behind. Pick up the trash, scrub off the graffiti, hose down the urine stains.
That’s all there is to it! Then, just sit back and watch the tourists flock back in. It’s just that simple!
Yep, my wife and I are two of a countless number of tourists who will NOT be visiting western Europe this year or any future year until the governments of those countries force the damn savages to get the hell out of there.
The people who run the EU and the heads of the countries that belong to it are either delusional or complicit concerning the invasion of these hordes of savages from Africa and the Middle East. The time is now for a violent revolt of patriots everywhere in Europe.
DFW, Houston and Austin areas are big magnets. Texas CAIR also had some success getting some sharia-compliant legislation (Texas halal), they don’t intend to stop. Also the influx of refugees.

A French ban on praying in the street came into force on Friday, driving thousands of Muslim worshippers in northern Paris into a makeshift prayer site in a disused fire brigade barracks, angering a small but vocal minority.
The street-prayer ban has highlighted France’s problems assimilating its 5-million-strong Muslim community, which lacks prayer space, and follows a long-running controversy, fanned by far-right leader Marine Le Pen, over Muslims forced to lay their prayer mats on the streets in big cities.
Interior Minister Claude Gueant directed Muslims in Paris to temporary spaces made available pending the building of a huge new prayer space and warned that force would be used if necessary as police end their tolerance of street prayers.
