John Bolton for Secretary of State? Trump could do a lot worse, and arguably not much better than the experienced diplomat and national-security analyst. Hugh Hewitt has been pushing the Trump campaign to start naming its Cabinet positions since Trump clinched the nomination, particularly when it comes to national-security appointments. Appearing on Hugh’s show this morning, Bolton endorsed Trump and said he’d be pleased to consider serving in that capacity, at least:
HH: Now let me turn to Donald Trump. I have urged him to name his cabinet. I have specifically urged him to name you as his Secretary of State designate. If Donald Trump asked you to serve in that capacity as Secretary of State, would you agree to do so?JB: Well, number one, with respect to your role, I am deeply grateful, and it’s an honor to be considered. You know, you’ve got to talk to somebody about a job like that. It’s not just enough to take a position so you can put it on your resume. You need to be sure, particularly with the State Department, you’ve got an understanding with the president. He runs foreign policy. Let’s be clear about that. But you have to understand exactly what your role would be and so on, and I think that’s a conversation any responsible person would have. But I’ve been honored, privileged, really, to serve in a number of senior positions at State and Justice over the years. And as you know, it’s an honor to serve the country. So obviously, you’d take it very, very seriously.

I like Bolton for Sec of State. The difference will be like day and darkness. I also like Giuliani for the FBI, Gowdy for AG, Carson for Surgeon General,Allen West at Homeland Security, etc.
I’d like to see Judge Jeanine as AG and have her spend the next 4 years going after everyone associated with Obama and Hillary and the IRS criminals.
I think he would be Trump’s pick for SecState. Trump has already signaled he wants Bolton. Trump’s got great instincts and would be able to assemble an America-first dream team cabinet.
Any conservative in the White House would do well to keep that @sshole as far away from Washington as possible.
Don’t leave out Bolton supporting an act of war against Russia over Syria.

Bolton already has a tested skill sets to be SEC. state. He can hit the ground running.
Homeland should be shut down and eliminated. Its creation was a Bush knee jerk reaction to 911.
Trump can't possibly be thinking of Bolton for this role. He'd discredit himself completely if he named that Beltway jack@ss to any position more substantive than the U.S. ambassador to Antarctica.
I don’t agree with every stance Mr. Bolton takes on every issue, but in one of the single most important issues we face, our approach to dealing with Islam, the man is on the money, and as other posters have indicated, the man is fearless and truthful.
Just my opinion, yours might differ.
You could do Rudi for Homeland Security and Christie for AG.
Trump will figure it out.
Experienced blood beats new blood every time. New blood listens and learns.
And TRUMP supporters would be happy to see this man serve! His is the voice of reason and experience. What a difference our State Department would be under this man’s leadership when compared to what we now own. Yes, American’s own this current State Department and we paid too high a price to do so.
Welcome aboard the TRUMP TRAIN Mr. Bolton, surely Mr. Trump will consider your name, being he does want the best of the best. Together, WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
That’s what I’m talking about! I’d be happier than hell if he was Secretary of State. After the garbage the ‘RATS have been putting in that post, Bolton would be a real breath of fresh air. Go Trump!
