In other words, it could completely ignore stare decisis.

There should never be allowed to be a fully liberal or fully conservative supreme court.

You read it there, taxpayer-funded abortions, more violent criminals let loose, the death penalty overturned, voting rights for criminals, illegal aliens, and dead people, as well as undermining the 1st and 2nd Amendments.

This more than anything else is what’s at stake.

A liberal SCOTUS has already re-shaped America. Ask Roberts.

This is like asking how being 200 pounds again is going to affect my life.

You daydream about it, fantasize, relish the moment, then come back to reality :)

Liberals never look into the future..If the liberal supreme court does that ,a conservative court can to.If Trump wins in November ,will libs scream about his use of executive orders?Of course they will. All he has to do is smile and say,I`m just doing what Obama did .I`m following his rules. If you like your rules, others can use them against you.

I’m glad that I’m much closer to the grave than to the cradle. But I *am* ashamed that it was *my* generation, the “boomers”,that started this decent down the toilet.

How the first liberal Supreme Court in a generation could reshape America

The first thing you need to remember about posting things from "Vox" is that if it's on "Vox" it's utter nonsense.

This country is just plain gone. If Hillary wins, we’ll eliminate the 1st as well as the 2nd amendments. If Trump should win, we may put that off a little while. But only a little.

Bring this up any time a “conservative” is planning to vote Johnson or stay home. “I’mma cut my losses and wait for 2020.” One new justice *minimum*.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

The ill-conceived 17th Amendment actually helped to foster today’s corrupt Supreme Court imo. After all, consider that the corrupt Senate helps the likewise corrupt House to pass unconstitutional appropriations bills, bills like Obamacare that steal not only 10th Amendment-protected powers, but also state revenues uniquely associated with those powers.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

But not only does the Senate help to pass such bills, the Senate then confirms activist justices who wrongly declare the unconstitutional laws established by such bills to be constitutional.

So thanks to the 17th Amendment, the Senate is arguably the most unconstitutionally powerful office in the land.

Remember in November !

Patriots need to support Trump / Pence by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trump’s vision for making America great again for everybody, but will put a stop to unconstitutonal federal taxes and likewise unconstitutional inteference in state affairs as evidenced by unconstitutional Obamacare.

Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

If HRC wins, the end will come at a much faster rate than before. If Trump wins, we may have a several decades or longer reprieve.

I don’t know what the author is talking about. We’ve had a liberal court for decades.

A liberal SCOTUS will ratify Hillary’s executive orders. Congress won’t be necessary. SCOTUS will allow Hillary to give voting rights to illegals. That will make it impossible for a Republican to be elected President, which means that Libs will continue to be able to appoint all of the judges. From that, Libs will then be able to do whatever they want. The US will then be fundamentally and irrevocably changed.
