Hillary Clinton is 16 points ahead of Donald Trump in Virginia, according to a new poll released Tuesday.

Clinton has 48 percent support to Trump's 32 percent among likely voters in the state, the Roanoke College survey found.

Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has 8 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein got 3 percent. In a head-to-head matchup, Clinton's lead over Trump grows to 19 points.

The poll also showed improved favorability ratings for Clinton in Virginia. Thirty-nine percent said they saw the Democratic nominee favorably, while 45 percent saw her unfavorably.

It’s a big deal. Republicans have almost no other path to win the Electoral College. OH, FL, and VA were recent requirements; hard to lose VA as GOP and win; not impossible but very difficult

I hope you are right.

Mitt never lead the 2012 polls.

Conservatives were questioning the R-D mix that the polls stated in 2012 (saying that the Ds were over-represented, causing Bath House to be in the lead).

People are questioning the R-D mix of today's polls. I don't know what to think anymore. There are too many lies floating around.

Omgosh, Free Republic is becoming an insular echo chamber. There aren’t that many of us. It is WRONG to kick back and assume that Trump has to win.

The media are powerful and influential. More than the media, the mocking from friends and family is highly influential. Many Americans are very busy and only have free time to osmose the most superficial of knowledge, from the most ubiquitous of sources. And some Americans are not big thinkers.

A lot of places, including FR, understand the situation in America. A lot of people know this really is Trump or perish. The Constitution has become a quaint old piece of goat under glass. But we are not alone.

State by state Hillary could get enough electoral votes to win. Why do FReepers scoff only? It is not random doom saying to BE HIGHLY CONCERNED HERE and do what we can to turn things around.

These people mostly KNOW Hillary has health weirdness and has broken numerous laws, BUT THEY ARE STILL GOING TO VOTE FOR HER. Don’t throw shade on ME here; I am a broken glass Trump voter. Just stop being cocky about a Trump win and get serious about the necessary states.

Prepare for the worst; rejoice when you’ve achieved the best.

Great Scott!!! It should be as plain as the nose on your faces that as Governor of Virginia.....Terry" McAuliffe will do all in his power to give Virginia to the Clintons.

(Clintons were ‘dead broke’ after leaving White House)......bought this $1.7 million mansion in Chappaqua, NY so Hillary could claim residence in the state ahead of her 2000 Senate campaign. Then they purchased this $2.85 million mansion on Embassy Row in Washington D.C. The home has 5 bedrooms and 6 baths.

Sorry, I don’t lie.

I’m just reporting what the stats are - I don’t have part in creating the stats.

There’s no reason to discourage anybody .. we all know that Virginia is STACKED with democrats.

VA - where half the DC “on the take’ crooks live...

Wealthiest ZIP Codes in the United States - find the pattern:

#10. McLean, VA — 22101

(McLean is home to many ... members of congress, and high-ranking government officials)

#6. Potomac, MD — 20854

(same)
#5. Chappaqua, NY — 10514

(Hillary, Bill, and liberal elites)

#4. Great Falls, VA — 22066

( Many of its residents commute into Washington, D.C. for work.)

#2. Fairfax Station, VA — 22039

(Fairfax Station. This town is a popular suburb with people who work for the federal government, and has some of the top public school counties in the country.)

Surprisingly the wealthiest ZIP code in the country (#1) is NOT filled with ‘public servants... yet)

Oh me another sky is falling poll. CNN was saying how Trump was polling behind Hillary in Utah too, last PPP poll shows her losing big. So I will wait for some real polling numbers to come out that show it is MUCH closer then this joke of a poll.

I can’t wait for election night to see the reaction when Trump wins. You know as well as I do all those Obama voters are not gonna come out for a lying criminal, many will just stay home. Zogby had article today that stated voters went from Bush to Obama and are now migrating to Trump.

Hillary is buried under so much corruption the news networks don’t have room for it all on their front page , LOL.

Her rally’s numbers are pathetic, and she likes hiding from the media, almost 300 days and still no press conference. If I had as many scandals as Hillary I would hide too !

I’m betting its heavily D+ oversampled

Heavy gop-e in no va who wants to keep cushy consulting jobs, too. We'll have to trade VA for PA.

16 point lead seems impossible. But, there is no doubt that we’re in trouble in Virginia.

But I will say this, if the electoral college depends on Virginia, were in deep doo-doo.

Because the pollster is weighting results to match 2012 demographics, Trump is probably behind 6-10 points at this point in time. Tough row to hoe.

Especially suspect in a Virginia poll.

There is a lot to worry about. Realclearpolitics does actually take a look at many many polls and makes their maps. They have a map with no one winning yet, leaving a lot of battleground states as “grey tossups.”

However, you can click on a link to a “No Tossups Map” and this is what you see.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/2016_elections_electoral_college_map_no_toss_ups.html

It’s scary.

Then you can play around on Make Your Own Map to see how Trump can win. It’s not easy but it can be done. I wish all rah-rah, polls are all lies FReepers would be quiet and figure out how Trump can win this election.

Here is the create your own map link. Go play:

We would have to take either CO, PA, or VA in order to beat Hillary. There is not one RCP tossup state we can lose. Do you guys get this? What Obama Blue state are you sure we will take? Where is all this exuberance coming from?

Not BS. Reverse "Bradley Effect".

"Trump’s advantage in online polls compared with live telephone polling is eight or nine percentage points among likely voters."

=>"Former Tom Bradley Aide Says Secret Trump Voters Similar to ‘Bradley Effect’"

So this is a telephone poll, 8-9% of Trump supporters hide from human pollsters, Trump just started TV advertising on Friday, Olympic women's beach volleyball was over on Thursday. (Coincidence?) and it's a little less than 2 weeks until Labor Day.

If Trump didn't know something about marketing, he wouldn't have become a billionaire. No cause for panic. (Yet.)
