Be sure your nav system doesn’t direct you thru these types of areas.

Donald Trump sure has his work cut out for him. What a hellhole our inner cities have become. My closest experience to this was Martin Luther King Blvd in Savannah, GA on a hot Friday night.

Naive tourist that I was, I thought all of Savannah was charming streets lined with arching trees draped in Spanish moss so the wife and I took a stroll after some riverside bar hopping. We were lucky to make it back to our hotel, I'll tell you that.

Agree with you on "Bonfire of the Vanities." I read the book three or four times but the movie was horrid. I wish Tom Wolfe wrote more novels. He's really good at it. "Man in Full" is also highly recommended.

I get Bonfire feelings when we take a wrong turn in Wichita or Kansas City Kansas. It’s not just the really big cities.

The accoster thought I was crazy. Which was exactly what I wanted him to think.

Made me think of Psalm 34.

“This was in the Syracuse, NY area. In other words, it’s happening in many of our cities.”

Are we ready to start talking about the elephant in the room yet ?

Detroit is the nastiest boil on I-75 from Toledo, OH to Bay City, MI. Pontiac, Flint and Saginaw are not much better.

It’s the auto industry rust belt. Cities along it in the mid 1900’s had a booming automotive economy. Now, we have this.

Union worker quality and costs, greedy and unpatriotic corporate leaders, costly gov regulations, bumpy quality control, unpatriotic consumers — all contributed to our auto industry’s sad downturn. This video shows one result.

This may come as a shock to you, but the auto industry is booming in SE Michigan. This video shows the people who either don’t want the job, or couldn’t pass a drug test if they did.
