Eighteen-year-old waitress Sadie Elledge was working the lunch shift at Jess Lunch, in Harrisonburg, Virginia when a couple, in lieu of a tip, left a message on their receipt that said, We only tip citizens. Sadie, whose father was born in Honduras and mother in Mexico, is, in fact, a U.S. citizen who grew up in Harrisonburg. Ive had people make comments like Go make me a burrito, but thats at school and I dont pay attention, said Sadie, adding that the insult wasnt that big a deal to her. But when her grandfather, John Elledge, heard of the incident through another one of his granddaughters, he decided he wasnt going to stand for it.

thanks. i noted that possibility in my post 11.
We all know this game don’t we?
1. Open a Go Fund Me account
2. Collect thousands
3. Be exposed as a fraud.
Rince, repeat, wait for for the next “victim” to come forward.
I always leave a cash tip......that way the server doesn’t have to report it. I waitressed......I made $2.00 for a 4 hour shift at lunch and my tips were the only thing that kept me going (this was back in the 70’s when I was a student).
This kind of fraud should be punished.
The manager should not have allowed that, or at least should apologize to the customer for invasion of privacy.
It’s a hoax and the handwriting doesn’t even look the same.
I hope the woman who signed the receipt sues the waitress and the restaurant.
I smell a democrat rat trap.
Sad that people are too stupid to understand this happens because we have 30 million illegals in this country, who are giving others a bad name.
Are her parents legal? Just wondering.
Millions can come here illegally but you can’t offend a waitress. Nice world isn’t it?
Good. Then...
I was just about to say that.
I need to have the receipt for my books but the tip is not deductible.
So I generally leave it in cash, it saves paperwork.
From now on I will write "cash tip" on the line to prevent this from happening to me.
Complete BS, if true, still wouldn’t be news, it’s someone’s opinion, unless the Left/Zero, issues an executive order on “Mandatory Ripping”...
My understanding is that the patron in question came back to the restaurant with the police, and was looking to sue for damage to her reputation. She was livid at the fraud, and claimed she simply signed the receipt, but did not write the message.
Or left a cash tip and forgot to write CASH ON TABLE in the Tip Space on the bill.
I always tip in cash but never note it on the charge slip. While I usually just draw a line in the tip slot, sometimes I forget to even do that.
My parents or me or my siblings NEVER ask our waitresses if they are American citizens...
Soy una víctima!!!
I didn’t read the article. Wwhat did she do???...eat the customers’ food? Soy esta fatso!
