A few decades ago, I flew from Boston to Nantucket on a 19 seat passenger aircraft operated by Delta Airlines. Nantucket has just one runway. Upon landing the cross wind rolled the plane about 30 degrees. The pilot righted it back just a second before touchdown. After that, I took ferries to the islands.
Private aircraft is the only sensible way to travel between the Vineyard and Nantucket. I did this myself when I used to spend a month on Nantucket every summer. (Of course, I didn't have a jet. I had a single-engine Piper, but for that short a distance it hardly makes a difference.)
