You can’t SSS when your kid spends 10 days in the hospital after an attack that was likely provoked by your actions.

Animal control agent here says the law states if the animal is worried you may take action. He said he defines worried broadly.

Yes, but when you are in the hospital with a broken neck and alligator bites all over your leg, it’s bound to pique the curiosity of a few people as to exactly what transpired...people DO have a tendency to be rather nosy...;)

Agreed. Also, firearms are a standoff weapon. If you’re going to get within 8 feet of the gator, you might as well bring a baseball bat (foolish, but so is a gun at that range). If you’ve got a firearm (I suspect low-caliber given the minimal damage from the shots), stand back far enough to be safe.
