THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
IRVING BERLIN
ALL ALONEA song from a previous generation could be made current by giving it a new sound. This tune was natural for a string-accompanied ballad, and Frank tried his hand with it in 1962. Gordon Jenkins provided the string arrangement. Note that the intro has disappeared. The soprano at the end is Noellie Norman, who voiced the high parts in the Tokens The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
