THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

IRVING BERLIN

”WHAT’LL I DO?”

This song received its first performance in Irving’s 1923 “Music Box Review,” and it was such a hit that he carried it over into his 1924 show. It’s one of his most recorded songs, and tonight you’ll understand why.

Frank Sinatra recorded this song twice, once in 1947 and again in 1962. This was the 1947 recording, backed by Axel Stordahl.

In 1962 Frank teamed with Gordon Jenkins, and it was a totally different treatment.
