Princeton HR department: Don’t use word ‘man’

The Princeton University HR department has largely wiped the word “man” from its vocabulary.

The relatively new (policy)[Guidelines for Using Gender Inclusive Languag] in effect at the Ivy League institution spells out the directive in a four-page memo that aims to make the department more gender inclusive.

Instead of using “man,” employees are told to use words such as human beings, individuals or people.

There is so much anti-male bias on TV these days, that nothing would surprise me. I just saw a video ad where a woman says, not once but twice, “What do I love about my life? My mom, my kids and my job.” What, she doesn’t love her dad or her husband? No room for that?

And that GE ad with the woman mechanic trying to teach a dimwitted young male. Saw that today for the first time. Why is that necessary?
