On Reddit, I have at lest 25. Most are for subs for hobbies and interests ht I like to keep seperate.

I noticed that Joel Stein seems to think that foul language, threats, and harassment are only practiced by alt-righters. He must have missed all of those death threats towards policemen and towards whites generally from #BlackLivesMatter social media following the deaths of Trayvon Martin and the various street thugs who've been shot by police officers.
Totalitarian leftist thugs crave oppression of free speech.

I have a fake facebook account for the same reason. The interesting thing is what my friends list looks like.
My fake person graduated from a large high school in an east coast american city. The idea was that enough people from the school would assume I’m just a guy they didn’t know. But a funny thing hapened:
I accept all friend requests and now have hundreds. EVERY SINGLE ONE is black and roughly 95% of them are in Africa.
It’s more attributable to the fact that EVERYONE now has access to the Internet, because they own a smartphone.
I started noticing & commenting on this about 10-15 years ago, that as uneducated, illiterate, uninformed ppl were able to access social media & online communication, the level of interaction went way down. Way down.
Now we have ppl who never worked a day in their life, who don’t read, getting their information from Facebook. They are all experts and don’t mind telling you so! These are the types who share memes about Trump, BLM, stir trouble, and get offline at 8p because MasterChef & The Voice are on.
Ugh.

I see far more truly abusive posts from the left than the right. The problem is, the left sees many factual statements as abusive. Such as pointing out that their so-called common-sense gun control laws would accomplish nothing to stop the mass shootings that spawn calls for such.

You are confusing Time with Forbes. Forbes is a magazine about watches. They have watch adverts on every other page. No prices listed, if you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it.
Another point about “trolling” and people who mistakenly think everyone does it:
A lot of publications & pundits were late getting connected online. They didn’t have FB accounts or Twitter accounts. They’re super-thin-skinned, and when someone disagrees with them, they immediately react with butthurt to the extreme.
They block, ban, delete — and then cry about how “the Internet” has been taken over by “trolls”. I see ppl commenting all the time on how “the trolls” are so bad on this or that media — and the truth is, it’s just ppl disagreeing with the standard (usually liberal).
In some cases tho, it comes from our own side b/c there are plenty of senior citizen pundits who don’t get it.

Yup. This also reminds me of a common newbie mistake. They get all excited about arguing with liberals. They think they can go to a site and use simple logic and reason and the liberal will say, “gosh, you’re right. I never saw that aspect before.”
Of course, we all know, the more we argue with liberals, that they don’t use logic much, though they actually think they are the logical ones.

Actually, a "Troll" is a bit more sophisticated than that. What you're talking about is just a straight up "hypocrite."
A Troll is on a mission, that is to engage political opponents and undermine or corrode their confidence to the point they become ineffective. To that end, they will "listen" to you, but discount, demean, ignore, or undermine ANYTHING you have to say, no matter how reasonable and logical, that undermines with the narrative they are trying to promote.
That must be why it’s the liberal newspaper sites that refuse to allow posters to post unless they have a FB account and only allow thumbs up for those who want to ‘vote’ on a specific post?
