I believed this until earlier this week, when I looked at Biden's intro-for-Hillary at the Scranton rally. He's really uncontrollable, and the PTB on the left know this. Kaine, OTOH, would make a good 4-to-8-year occupant of the Oval Office, so if Hillary drops out (or drops dead, and no, NSA, I'm not suggesting assassination but the effects of ill health), Kaine would take her place.
Having said all that, I am sticking to my guns: I think the Dems know they are going to lose in 2016, and intend to do so. They want Trump in office so that the Clintons are once and for all removed from Dem power, and so that all the SHtingTF (financial collapse, terrorist attacks, multiple riots, "miraculous" increase in homelessness, etc., etc.) can be blamed on Trump, and in 2020 they can bring in The Savior of America, who will complete what Obama started, and destroy the greatness of America for all time.
Yup. Demon-Possessed. LITERALLY.

What happens if she wins the general election but dies before the electoral college officially elects her? Can her electors in the electoral college vote for anyone else who is otherwise qualified to serve as POTUS? What happens if she dies after she is officially elected by the electoral college, but before she takes the oath of office? Under the Constitution, the VP succeeds the POTUS, but Clinton would not be the president until she takes the oath of office.

After the election, but before the meeting of the Electoral College, it is up for grabs, except that states may bind their electors in various ways. Because of various details, Congress might decide on the president just as if no candidate won an electoral majority.
After the official electoral vote count in Congress, it is straightforward: The recently elected VP becomes president.
