Yes, you and I are on the same page then. Friends have a place up in Blue Ridge lake, I’ve spent some time around there. And of course we transit Ellijay to get there. Generally like the feel.
BTW, who ranks GA cities on redneck factor? I’d like to see that.

A huge amount of good will among whites has been thrown back in their faces.
Why? Well, because a slave doesn’t dream of freedom; a slave dreams of becoming a master.
They never wanted justice and equality. They have always wanted their turn on top. They want their turn to be as bad as they think whites have been.
It's tempting to deem it genetic.
Or PC tolerance; or, worst of all, tacit approval.

Here it is. With the usual reminder that a supply of salt is useful when reading all Wikipedia articles.
Ideology was the major ingredient in the fatal riot. Whatever the driving force of that ideology, it is certainly an object lesson from history.
That it was the remedy necessary at the time to bring the violent riots to a quick conclusion may be debated forever, but that it prevented future similar senseless ideologically driven extreme riots is beyond dispute, and ultimately may have prevented hundreds of similar fatalities since then.
