MORGANTOWN Jeb Bush hit the campaign trail Tuesday for West Virginia Republican gubernatorial nominee Bill Cole, a Donald Trump supporter in heavily pro-Trump coal country.
Bush, who has said he wont vote for Trump or Hillary Clinton for president, addressed a West Virginia business group Tuesday about fighting substance abuse, reforming the tax code, cutting regulations and overhauling the education system.
But the former Florida governors speech largely avoided commentary on Trump, a bitter rival whose attacks became personal during a crowded Republican presidential primary. Bush also headlined a Cole fundraiser Tuesday evening.
Id say that everybody has their right to make their choice, Bush told reporters about Trumps West Virginia popularity. Mr. Trump has captured the support of a lot of people who dont think the system works for them.
Trumps favorability in West Virginia is hardly mirrored nationally, according to recent polling. Bush said it doesnt look like Trump is going to win, adding that the presidency is won with your arms wide open, not by scolding people.
We win when we have a positive, proactive, conservative message, one thats inclusive, Bush told reporters. Repeating how bad things are over and over again can work for a while, but to win the presidency we need a serious 21st century conservative agenda.

He just will not go away.
Sounds like Mr. Cole is trying to unite the party, but it will be tough in WV.
Time to thank the Lord that this man got decimated in the primaries.
Who is Jeb Bush?
Why would he ask a Hillary supporter to come help him?
Please Clap...
Please??? Pretty please???
Act of love
Kiss of death for Cole.
Best wishes to Mr Cole!
Please clap.
I would say that win the presidency you first need to win a primary or two, Jeb. Will you never learn?
So I guess Jeb's message during the primaries wasn't a "positive, proactive, conservative message, one thats inclusive", was it?
Does this pledge-breaking fool even listen to his own words?
Donald Trump is doing everything possible to win. If he doesn't, the blame will rest squarely, squarely on the shoulders of Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Mitt Romney, George Will, Mark Levin, and their hateful, shortsighted ilk, because they'd all rather preserve their Establishment power and see Hillary elected, instead of letting the People clean house in Washington DC and sweep away the whole corrupt status quo.
If the deposed leadership of the GOP was fully on board with Trump, not even the Media would be able to blunt his November landslide. Instead, they decided to risk the entire Republic in a futile and chimerical bid to maintain power. They are truly delusional. Their power is gone, never to return.
The funny part is that, even if Hillary wins, Jeb, Cruz, and their selfish "NeverTrump" comrades will never be leaders in the Republican party of the future. The globalist Republican party that they want to return to is dead meat whether Trump wins or not. Republican voters will never return to the feckless, self-aggrandizing "business as usual" GOPe that has been fomented on conservatives ever since Ronald Reagan left the scene.
The GOPe is over. They are dinosaurs, relics of a shameful and ineffective past that conservative voters will never return to, ever.
These blind men just haven't gotten it through their thick skulls yet that the Uni-party has been completely repudiated, from conservatives' point of view. This is a Revolution, and even if we fail to win the White House, the demise of the GOPe is already accomplished. They will never again return to power in our party, because they will never again enjoy our support. They might as well become Democrats and remove all remaining doubt as to where their allegiances lie.
The party is Donald Trump's now, and ours, and the old guard had better get used to functioning within the new paradigm, because the old one has been utterly demolished.
Vote Trump!
If the deposed leadership of the GOP was fully on board with Trump, not even the Media would be able to blunt his November landslide.
All of them together couldn't stop Obama in the last two elections.
What makes you think they could make a difference this time?
What makes you think they could make a difference this time?
This time, a fully unified Republican party would simply be too much for the Enemy to even theoretically overcome, given the strong countercurrent they're working against.
That's why everybody should be so furious that Jeb, Cruz, Romney and their selfish, traitorous ilk are threatening what should otherwise be a foregone conclusion, and thereby subjecting the Republic to needless peril.
Vote Trump!
