Trump to begin TV ads in Florida as campaign staff gets a jolt

Donald Trump’s campaign got another shakeup this morning, part of a reset that includes the first TV advertising in Florida and other battlegrounds.

Trump has brought on Breitbart News’ Stephen Bannon as CEO, a man the campaign heralded for his combative style, and elevated Kellyanne Conway to campaign manager. Paul Manafort will remain as chairman.

Conway is a former pollster for the Tampa Bay Times.

“I have known Steve and Kellyanne both for many years. They are extremely capable, highly qualified people who love to win and know how to win,” Trump said in a statement. “I believe we’re adding some of the best talents in politics, with the experience and expertise needed to defeat Hillary Clinton in November and continue to share my message and vision to Make America Great Again.”

Trump’s campaign also confirmed it would begin buying ads later this week in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, where he has seen Clinton pull ahead in varying degrees.

Trump has not placed a single general election ad in Florida while Clinton and her allies have showered the state with $27 million...
