No he doesn’t and no he can’t. This every 8 year paranoia coming from whoever doesn’t own the White House is pathetic. Really people, when you see these stories ignore them or mock them, don’t perpetuate them. There’s simply no excuse for anyone without brain damage to give them any credence.

Agreed. Where would a rouge President get the manpower to impose a dictatorship on a nation of 315 million people over 3.5 million square miles? Combat units have a large percentage of conservative white males, who would likely defy orders. These units are smaller than in the past. Much of these forces are overseas. Navy and Air Force help would be minimal. Federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies have lots of agents with sidearms and assault rifles, but there is no central command. Most day to day law enforcement is performed by local police agencies, and would largely not cooperate or stand down under an attempted Presidential coup.
