Not a part of Russian, Syrian, or ISIS military doctrine, hence, irrelevant.
Such a big aircraft for so few bombs. A shorter range will mean bigger payloads. Like us in Vietnam the Russians have a huge stockpile of dumb bombs to use up so saturation bombing makes sense.
This is an effective medium bomber/strike aircraft.
The angle of the photograph reminded me of the 1960s Navy’s A-5 Vigilante. I remember building the old Monogram model kit of it.
