NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — There are reports of shots fired at JFK International Airport.
The FDNY said a call came in at 9:38 p.m. for reports of shots fired at JFK.

EMS is under FDNY - might be the reason for the confusion.

IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Guns do NOT exist in NYC, except those carried by police officers! They have MANY TOUGH LAWS there regarding firearms, of course! ;)
