“The man who was killed has not been publicly identified.

Milwaukee’s mayor said the man was struck twice — in the chest and the arm — and that he believes the officer involved had a body camera on at the time of the shooting.

Milwaukee Police Assistant Chief Bill Jessup told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel newspaper it wasn’t clear if the gun was pointed at the officer.

“Those additional facts will come out in the coming days,” Jessup said.”

I hope the body cam can shed some light on this story. If it shows the man pointing/shooting at the officer then we know it was a life or death situation. If we find that he had a gun in his pocket, well then we have a problem.

“Milwaukee Police Assistant Chief Bill Jessup...”

I don’t know anything about Asst Chief Jessup; however, the Chief of Police is shown on the City of Milwaukee’s website as “Chief Edward A. Flynn;” Mitt Romney’s Secretary of Public Safety when Romney was Governor of Massachusetts

The link to Chief Flynn’s bio from the City of Milwaukee’s website is shown below; however, it seems to be erratic in its function since earlier this morning. I was still able to connect to it using a web search for “’City of Milwaukee’ with ‘Chief of Police’”
