You are correct. Friends of mine are adopting three siblings, despite mom and two of the dads being in prison they had to wait six years for their parental rights to be terminated.
The third dad was fighting the adoption even though he had never seen his daughter in her eight years of life and bluntly stated that he had no wish to see her.
Happily they have a good social worker (they are out there!) who kept them with their foster family even though she was pressured to relocate the children to prevent them from becoming attached to their foster family.
The system is messed up.

The school district in our area is handing out weekend food bags for kids along with toiletry items. Our church donated as well as individuals. Follow the kids home and look behind the door . . . .so tragic. The police officers are heroes . . . hopefully the parents in this story will turn their lives around but the only true and lasting change can only come about through believing in Jesus. He is our Provider. I hope a Bible believing church will come to the family’s aid. http://www.thereishopeinjesus.com/

Somewhere, probably by accident, this young lad saw he had something of value (if only to him) and was willing to trade for food.
How many in that position start out by shoplifting and move up to robbery.
We may very well have an entrepreneur on our hands - more important, if he has nothing of HIS OWN to hock, does he turn to more conventional or at least in some neighborhoods proven methods.
We have no time for this kid or poor Americans. We need to support and rebuild the world!

There is no child in America who should be going hungry unless their parents are neglecting them. There are plenty of programs and charities that will help.
I was in my mid 20’s, she was smoking hot and I ignored the red flags.
I salute the men in blue too, but their pay is not low, nor their benefits, nor their pensions...okay, not NFL star wages but far better than the average worker....
I think the best outcome happens when the kids are adopted out very very early...
don't get me started on the oxy/hydro massive abuse going on.
