The Washington Post article writer, Derek Hawkins, wrote 1068 words and never used the word “black” or “African-American,” thereby missing the actual, ongoing, national news story.

You have to be deliberately dishonest — if you otherwise have a rational, educated mind — to do this.

Makes him a future Pulitzer Prize winner. Being able to take the story and make it into some other story is an art form, and worthy of serious recognition.

But what did we use to call that skill again?
