We’re far from that, IMO. I just read here on FR, only 30% of pastors discuss abortion in church. If a majority of church pastors will not even speak out against abortion, then I don’t expect much push-back against abnormal sexual behavior/marriage, or government decree.

The 30% figure is BECAUSE of the LBJ Rule and 501c3, which keeps many or most pastors in fear of IRS and other gubmint reprisals.

All this stuff is unconstitutional. And it is my understanding that the RC Church never submitted to it. 501c3 or anything else. Trump has stated that he’d revoke all of it. There are to be NO such burdens or restraints on churches or ministers.

I agree we are far from it . Most of the pastors are not shepherds , they are hirelings that flee. That is why they do not speak out. If 30% of them actually spoke out we would not be in the situation we are in . We would not be in it if 10% of the spoke out.

Yes, my chief worry (here in Canada) has been one day someone will speak on homosexuality and the government will come down hard. But now I realize the church will just self-censor. They will say “there is no purpose in discussing one sin over the others” and nothing more will be said about sexual issues.
