Vet the Bronze Star is awarded to ALL commissioned Officers who serve in a combat zone regardless of their duties or exposure to combat operations.. It is sometimes referred to as an Officer “show up” medal. If the award is for a heroic act the award will be the Bronze Star with a “V” for Valor.

I am well aware of the criteria for the Bronze Star. They are given to all officers when they depart a combat zone. I am just saying that something is not right about Khan’s Bronze Star if he in fact saved dozens of others from certain death. Something don’t add up. Maybe he was shafted and should have gotten a higher award. Reading the citation would help. Then again the citation only shows what the awards and decorations officer who wrote it up wants it to say. A Bronze Star for directly offering your life for others? I ain’t buying it.
