Her fleshed out story is a) Comey said what she told the FBI was truthful, b) what she told the public is the same thing she told the FBI, c) long winded description of appearance of e-mails, i.e., that a "classification header" is prominent, hard to miss, and none of the e-mail she handled, had that prominent marking.
The so called short circuit is nothing more than leaving out "b" and most of "c" in her response to Wallace, this past Sunday.
As to b), if she had told the FBI the same things she told the Amercisn people, then she would have been lying to the FBI. We know she didn’t do that, because Comey did remind us that lying to the FBI is a crime. Since he didn’t charge her with that or anything else, we can figure that she told the FBI different things than she told the American people.
While Comey did acknowledge that she did not lie to his investigators, Just one question would totally screw her: Did you lie to Congress?
