What people fail to take into account is on average it takes anywhere between 2000 to 4000 people, depending on size, to field an air wing.

Additionally, you also need lead time to train and equip air and ground crews. This training must be continuous and meet full proficiency for every combat scenario.

Also, you will need a logistical supply chain with adequate spares on hand and a depot system in place to refurbish and upgrade existing parts and airframe components.

So the question is do you build a new airframe and transform your total force or do you hodgepodge multiple airframes, with multiple logistic supply chains and training requirements?
