Several is this thread address that, but anyone who watched those hearings knows McCain was downright hostile to many witnesses trying to present evidence that POWs might have be held back by North Vietnam and still alive after the release of those released including McCain.

Their stories have to do with the code of behavior of POWs as written in the military rules and regs.

Nothing to do with mere survival but survival for the mission and national security and dying if necessary for the same

McCain still pays for his first wife's medical bills.

With whose money? As a dependent when injured, she would be entitled to dependent's medical care, and the taxpayer would pay.

Their stories have to do with the code of behavior of POWs as written in the military rules and regs.

During the Vietnam era, the code for the behavior of a POW was to give the captors nothing but name, rank and serial number. Everything else was excluded. There was no elaborate and lengthly code of behavior.

And any information a POW might have had related to a mission or national security would have had a pretty short shelf life of usefulness.

That is a false statement. The fire began because of ammunition set off on the opposite side of the deck from his aircraft.

A more sanguine version reported the wet start of McCain’s A4 was the real origin of the incident which ignited the Zuni rocket on the F-4 behind him. No doubt McCain’s Dad controlled the contents of the incident report. McCain personally crashed 3 A-4’s during his flying career.

I don’t know how long she was married to McCain. It’s probably pretty easy to figure that out.

I don’t know if legally she is still a legal dependent. That probably depends on his 2nd wife’s accountants. The second wife has all the money. Sort of like Kerry - although Kerry’s wife is not well.

This is sad but I can understand now...all I can say. The UCMJ is a code that has to be followed, and there are no buts.

FU Barack Oshithead!

The flight deck camera and plat camera captured the entire sequence of events. The fire was started by the Zuni missile.

The movie that the Navy made about it was a staple of the shipboard and aircraft firefighting classes I attended every two years or so.

McCains plane crashed had nothing to do with the fire on the flight deck

Wow, didn’t know that...I did not scratch any metal in almost 21,000 hours, civilian, military and commercial. Lucky me.

But many brave men didn’t cave. I would not have been one of the brave ones, I’m afraid.”

I agree that I would probably not be very brave, but I would never come back and pretend to be a hero, when there were many POWs that were heroes. He also left POWS behind. And insisted that we renew relations with North Vietam without getting all the POWs accounted for.

POW families hate his guts and turned their back on him.

Do a simple search on yahoo. Perot’s campaign mgr was a POW with McCain and hated his guts. Perot made him tone it down. But Perot hated his guts, too.

Just pointing out he was not the best aviator on the ship. His hot dog wet start of his A 4 caused the Zuni on the F-4 behind him to ignite.

mccains ac was on the opposite side of the decks it hits tail over the side facing away from the F4. It would’ve needed to be one helluva wet start and it would’ve consumed about 8 aircraft before it got to the F-4

Not sure where you are getting your info, but it’s wrong

Let the truth ring out. I am so sick of the lies.

Truly, if there is nothing to be ashamed of in doing what McCain did, why was it so deeply suppressed. Because it was against military law. He aided and abetted the enemy and was an officer to boot.

He deserves better than the truth? Living a lie is not exactly a great way to live.

You know he felt shame and feared the truth coming out as he and other suppressed the truth. Living in shame and fear is no way to live.

Powerful officials lying to Americans is not acceptable. Living a lie is not acceptable.

His past is not as glorious as he portrayed to the public. Americans are forgiving people. He did not have to live his life as a deceiver.
