“The 2001 authorization for the use of military force, similar to our previous airstrikes in Libya,” Cook responded. …

Well past time for Congress to revoke AUMF. It was never meant to be a permanent transfer of war powers authority.

I’m thinking Wikileaks exposed the Libyan responsible for Hillary’s gambit. They are trying to find him and kill him before he speaks.

Congress doesn’t have the Constitutional power to “transfer” any powers to any other branch of government, thus eliminating separation of powers. Decades of flouting the Constitution will lead to anarchy, and we’re near the tipping point.

Seems a bit reminiscent of the Tonkin Gulf Resolution of 1964.

The 1973 War Powers Resolution is still in effect, and dictates that the president consult with congress if engaging the military.

Has that been done?

0bama’s going to make some halfassed attempt to clean up his mess now?

That’s kind of like spilling a carton of milk on the kitchen floor and waiting three months to do anything about it. And to keep the metaphor accurate he threw it on the floor on purpose to begin with.

I haven’t been watching this mess but my bet is the government (and the Europeans who own the oilfields they took over after we eliminated Qadaffi) were close to asking the Russians for help to contain ISIS

Thus Obama bravely sent in someone elses kids to preempt them

with some half-vast bombings

That’s an interesting thought.

FWIW the Chinese were there developing oil fields before NATObama turned Libya into a gigantic terrorist training camp. I don’t know if they’ve tried to return or not.

The Chinese have tens of thousands of people working the oilfields in Libya and Iraq

When Hillary was enticing and then taking down Qadaffi they had an air evac of their nationals
