Instead, we're talking about something other than Hillary. Just like Hillary's handlers want. FReepers pay attention to the details. Unfortunately, the general public does not. General public will determine the election, not us, and they follow the media narrative, which, until the gift of Khan came along, was focused on crooked Hillary. It's a game of momentum. Trump allowed himself to lose the big MO. He needs to stay focused on what's important.
It isn't much different, other than the differences one would expect based on the person being confrontational. Trump was confronted by Stephanoplis, Pence was confronted by a citizen mother.
Both were confronted, asked to justify some sort of lie - Trump was asked about "Trump would not have allowed Khan to immigrate to the US," and Pence was asked to respond to "Trump has disrespected our nation's armed forces and veterans. And his disrespect for Mr. Khan ..."
These issues are going to continue to come and go, and Trump cannot control it. The press manufactures this crap out of whole cloth, and the people go along with it. It's little different from a stampede or riot, reason is literally out the window, in nearly all of public discourse.
-- If Trump had responded like Pence, Khan would never have seen the light of day and the press would still be focused on the emails, the DNC alliance against Bernie, and Hillary's four Pinocchio's. --
You have no way of knowing that. What action did Trump take to create the "Trump or Manafort revised the party platform to favor Russia" story? The press could give Khan 100% of its coverage from today until the election, if it wanted to. Nothing Trump says or does can change that.
“If Trump had responded like Pence, Khan would never have seen the light of day and the press would still be focused on the emails, the DNC alliance against Bernie, and Hillary’s four Pinocchio’s.”
Surely this was meant as a joke. I can’t believe any who’s actually watched the media or read mainstream journalists would really believe that. The press barely wanted to discuss those subjects (or anything negative for Hillary) for a couple of days after they broke and would certainly have already moved on to other topics of their own devising regardless of whatever else happened. The idea that the mainstream media would spend weeks talking about Hillary’s “Pinocchios” or deleted emails is really very humorous. (If only we lived in such a world!) They long ago stopped talking about the emails until Trump forced them to with his Russia comments.
