Perhaps the remaining Germans can seek refuge in The Republic of TX as in olden times. My homeschooled boy is tracing his German roots from Antwerp into Texas. They landed in the middle of the US/MX war stagecoaches were hard to get due to the war. Many Germans died trying to make it to New Braunfels—it was said it was a trail of bones.

We had Czechs settling here in West.

Also the first permanent Polish settlement in the US was in Panna Maria, which is about 60 miles from San Antonio.
