I don’t mind the question.
I love to cook. Been doing so since 10 YO. Cooking not 5Star but filling. I can cook for one or dozens and don’t see it as a chore. The wife does do some cooking.
I perfected my Dish Washing in the Army, doing pots and pans and heavy stuff, it got you out 2 hours early. Didn’t have to wait for eaters to clear Mess.
Also saves water and time and insures inventory check on silverware.
I also do not like going to bed with a tired and mad Italian! ;^}
Wife happy, everyone HAPPY!

Have a great night.

What is it with those carburetors? Is it the gaskets?

(Do NOT buy a Troy Bilt from Lowes)

Don't buy a Troy Bilt from ANYONE. The new owners have totally trashed quality. I had one of their rototillers 30 years ago and it was a beast. Made money tilling lawns and gardens and paid for it. Sold it 3 years later (dumb move) for almost original price.

My neighbor got one of Troy Bilt's new riding mowers. Lasted about 2 years after numerous downtimes trying to fix it. It's rusting away and was replaced with an ancient Yard King. I wish I could steal it THAT sweet machine.

I bought a "refurbished" Troy Bilt edger at Lowes for cheap. Got it home and the starter cord wouldn't even move. The screen was crushed. After I fixed the cord, it wouldn't run for more than 3 seconds. Priming it 20 times would get you 5 seconds. I ripped the carb apart and cleaned it. Started like champ and ran fine. I shut it off and 5 minutes later it wouldn't start. It sat in the back of the barn for 3 years.

One day I thought, I wonder if some starter fluid would work. Now I use it every time and it works fine. Crappy plastic B&S carb. Still a crappy edger. The belt makes a complicated trip. They last about 500 feet of edging. They either snap (so I got Kevlar) or they twist and eventually opposite moving parts get tangled and melt in no time. Designed by an idiot. Great blue smoke, though.

Whirlpool here. 2 years old. It cleans fine, no cloudy glasses. It has a 1 hour wash cycle we use, other wise it will run for close to two hours. Leaves plastic stuff a little wet, my wife got used to it.

You can buy TSP online at amazon. I’ve been adding it to my laundry detergent and dishwashing detergent ever since the EPA removed it. Works great!

I used to visit my 86 year old grandfather way out in the country. After spending a great evening chatting the night away, grandpa prepared breakfast of bacon and eggs. I noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned grandpa asking, “Are these plates clean?”

Grandpa replied, “They’re as clean as cold water can get em. Just you go ahead and finish your meal”.

For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, I was concerned about the plates as they appeared to have tiny specks around the edges that looked like dried egg and asked, “Are you sure these plates are clean?”

Without looking up the old man said, “I told you before, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don’t you worry, I don’t want to hear another word about it”.

Later that afternoon, as I was leaving, my grandfather’s dog started to growl and wouldn’t let me by. I called out and said, “Grandpa, your dog won’t let me get to my car”.

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted, “COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN NOW, YA HERE ME!!!”

Must be a power flush model that stores up main line water pressure

Then there are the low flow toilets. You have to flush them twice to get them to work.

Older toilets only need one flush.

I feel lucky, my toilets were made in 1984, flush like there is no tomorrow. Seven or eight ago, we bought a new Maytag washer and dryer set. Terrible, terrible, very little water during the wash cycle and the clothes all came out very wrinkled, the gas dryer barely dried. Replaced them a couple of years ago with refurbished Kenmore washer and dryer set made in the 1990s. Fabulous, washer fills deeply and really cleans clothes, and they come out unwrinkled. The Kenmore electric dryer works great!

Look for a fuel additive called Star Tron. It’s expensive, but so are new engines.

There’s a guy in Tinytown where I live that sells no-ethanol gas out of old timey pumps. I fill a couple of 5 gal cans each month, to use in my mowers, woodchippers, chainsaws, etc.
The same guy does a thriving business repairing small engines that have been damaged by ethanol. People drive from miles around.

My kenmore dishwasher is a 1979 model, came with the house. Still does a good job, no spots, even though the local water is full of iron. I dread having to replace it.

The EPA probably considers me a felon for heating my house with a wood burning cast iron stove. My cow farts big stinky methane farts, and so does my dog.
Uh-oh.

You have to buy a washer with the sanitary cycle. I still don’t know if they get as hot as the “kochwasser” cycle in Europe but those washers do heat the water. Still, ours don’t “waste” as much water here so they don’t get the clothes as clean. Try putting a big towel in, soaked full of water.

Dont get a mantis either. Damn things drop dead after the 2nd season. I had a ryobi back in the nineties. Small but powerful. After it died I foolishly bought a mantis. Took it to a mennonite repair shop and left it there. POS.

I now have a Honda. Great rototiller!

I happen to be an engineer for a major company that makes dishwashers. Yep - you’re correct. DOE regulations limit amount of water and energy during cycle.

Guess what? It’s only getting worse with forthcoming 2019 regulations!

BTW...messing with flood float won help. It’s only there to prevent a flood situation. Water levels are software controlled.
