If Trump flips Pennsylvania, all bets are off
Washington Times ^ | July 29, 2016 | Kelly Riddell

No state is more important to Donald Trump’s chances of winning the White House than Pennsylvania, and — unlike any Republican presidential in the past 20 years — he actually has a chance to win it.

In the Scranton-Wilkes Barre section of the state — up Interstate 81 in the northeast part — Mr. Trump is so popular that businesses are actually advertising their support of his candidacy.

Trump could take Pittsburgh too. A lot of white Democrats here have been chomping at the bit for 25 years to pull the lever for someone who would slay the NAFTA dragon.

Trump needs to play up coal and STEEL.

Aside from going after foreign unfair trade practices, Trump should provide incentives to steel companies to come back to PA by providing juicy tax incentives and allowing expensing capital improvements and investment vs. depreciation. Any governor who cares about his state should mirror this concept to grow industry.

If Trump holds Romney’s states and wins FL and OH (which should go R in a 50\50), he’s got 253 EV. PA puts him over the top.

In 2012, PA was only 1.5 points less Republican than the national average. Hardly a solid blue state.

The problem with Pennsylvania is that in too many precincts what is cast via the voting machines has no correlation to the vote totals reported. Unless Trump has more than 60% of the vote there will be enough votes manufactured to push Hillary over the top.

I've already shown this. If you want to see a mind-boggling map...

The problem with this map, is that the overall presidential vote paradigm that produces a PA win, is inconsistent with losing VA, OH, and even WI.

So a PA win is much more likely to produce a map like this:

Which is essentially a Trump 320+ blowout.

Exactly. I would be more worried about RINO bedwetters in the Philly suburbs flipping to Hillary than Dems in Pittsburgh. Trump is gonna get a LOT of them, trust me.

Our long-term trends are not good though.

Too many Democrats moving in from NJ, MD and NY.
And for the first time you’re starting to notice a very substantial number of immigrants.

He’s popular in the north EAST????!!! I would assume he’d be popular on the west side of the state, but the east too? Fantastic! Hillary is in Harrisburg screeching her head off to a group gathered to hear her. So, that’s going well for us!

I’m NEPA born, now in south central PA
It’s like two different worlds just 2hrs apart. If NEPA is this Trump solid, he will win NEPA is as democratic as Philly, and as corrupt

Trump’s American Steel ad is nothing short of tremendous. You don’t even know it’s about Trump until the very end. Brilliant.

If Trump flips Pennsylvania, all bets are off

I said over a year ago that if Trump wins the nomination, he is going to walk away with the victory. I knew his sort of populism would appeal to Blue Collar Democrats. What I didn't know is that it appeals pretty well to Black Democrats too.

That hate-filled old witch is going to get burned, and we will be TriUMPant!

PA is like that girl that flirts with Republicans but never puts out.

GWB was said to have a good chance in PA in 2000 and 2004 only to lose the state by 3% and 2%.....Then McCain was said to be competitive there and he lost by 10%....then a lot of people said Romney would carry it and he lost by 4%.

I like to believe Trump has a better shot the the three before, but I don’t know. I do give it to him in my electoral prediction, but I am still uneasy.

Alll trump really has to do to win is keep the Romneys states and flip OH, FL, VA, IA and NV and he wins.

Again, though, as we're seeing more and more as the U.S. population increases, the big cities carry the vote, often at odds with the rural areas.

That is the case across the nation. I've read articles which attempt to demonstrate that large cities are inherently Socialistic by their very nature.

One of the most amusing articles which notes this phenomena is "Pigeons, Rats, and Democrats."

If you haven't read it, I strongly recommend it. I found it hilarious as well as completely true.

I hope you are right. SO much doom and gloom and Hillary was excellent and on and on....the only news channel I can watch online because I don’t have cable or tv is FNC.

The Five...They seem to really like the Hillary speech...Juan no surprise and Dana...she just gushes all over Hillary.

Seems since Roger left his position, it’s all bets on Hillary except for maybe one or two anchors for Trump.
