Those who seek to disarm the public have always had a hidden agenda. In the middle and early 60s the assault was more open. With each new assault the public grew more educated and the fallacies of the anti-Second Amendment arguments were exposed. As public support waned, those who hate an empowered public, have grown more desparate and more disingenuous.
In 1976, Pete Shields was open about his desire for a general confiscation:
The first problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns being produced and sold in this country. The second is to get handguns registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors totally illegal.
In the 1970s, the idea that England and Wales had low crime rates because of gun restrictions seemed plausible. Then we learned that crime rates had risen as more and more controls were applied. Each new push for more infringements has been met with data and facts showing the lack of rationality behind the hatred of an armed population.
The latest push is for Universal Background Checks (UBCs). UBCs are a precursor to the registration that Pete Shields desired. Any legislation that allows for background checks without recording gun serial numbers and personal data is shot down by those who push UBCs.
Politico reveals the preparation for another round of rebranding; changing labels without changing the product. From politico.com:
With that in mind, representatives from a broad mix of progressive groups sat around a table last week at the Washington offices of Global Strategy Group, where they received a tutorial on how

The entire "progressive" movement is built on the idea that the leadership has to fool the people into doing what is best for them, because politicians know so much more than everyone else.
Make no mistake, H->! is all about gun grabbing.
Once they increase the liability for gun manufacturers, it’s game over for the 2nd Amendment. The manufacturers will be sued out of business.
But hey we’ll all be rich from winning settlements from every manufacturer of every product in the world.
Whenever a gun grabber says that they aren’t going to take away your guns, what they really mean is that they aren’t going to take away your guns TODAY.
It won’t matter if they can’t win. Their plan is to bankrupt the gun manufacturers with attorney fees. And the gates will be wide open for lawsuits that hold every manufacturer responsible for the misuse of their product. They will be suing car manufacturers and liquor distilleries for drunk drivers and who know what else.
But hey well all be rich from winning settlements from every manufacturer of every product in the world.

It will be a lot like the tobacco lawsuits. Lawyers got very very wealthy.
It wont matter if they cant win. Their plan is to bankrupt the gun manufacturers with attorney fees.

America's BIGGEST problem.
If Clintoon becomes our Potus, she will disarm us and make us like the poor guy below, running for his life! His crime, being a Trump supporter in San Jose earlier this year. He was run down by a Somali Islamic. The worthless Liberal San Jose Mayor and LaRaza police chief made sure their cops didnt stop the violence against Trump supporters.
Rats want guns to kill others. Conservatives need guns to defend themselves from Rat predators.(Paladin2)
Shakespeare was right.
A LIBERAL'S 'COMMON SENSE GUN CONTROL'
“Increased liability for gun dealers and gun manufacturers” is music to the ears of greedy shyster lawyers but bad news for car dealers and automobile manufacturers. Go ahead, open dat can ‘o’ worms.
All I can say is that elections do have consequences.
