ABC News ^ | July 28, 2016 | Michael Edison Hayden

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Thursday afternoon he wanted to "hit" some of the Democratic National Convention speakers "so hard" while watching them last night, including a "little guy...so hard his head would spin."

"You know what I wanted to. I wanted to hit a couple of those speakers so hard," Trump said. "I would have hit them. No, no. I was going to hit them, I was all set and then I got a call from a highly respected governor."

He didn’t mean literally. I don’t know if ABC thought he meant it literally or not. Anyone who heard him at the rally would know he didn’t mean literally; he meant “hit” back at what they said. ABC knows what he meant, and they put that headline up because they know there are people who read headlines and not the article.

Start with Mike Pence GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence on Thursday predicted Roe vs. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion, would be overturned if Donald Trump is elected president. “I’m pro-life and I don’t apologize for it,” he said during a town hall meeting here. “We’ll see Roe vs. Wade consigned to the ash heap of history where it belongs.” We don't this as an election issue Trump owned the conversation until this

Do you think that to support Trump means 'conservatives' are NOW pro-abortion? Trump knew exactly why he selected Pence, and I am thrilled to hear Pence state the obvious... Trump says it when he says we need Scalia types on the supremes bench... Trump is not a single issue candidate and there are too many wounds to this nation to get sidetracked on one single issue... But that sure does not mean that some of 'we the people', do not continually pray, for the end of the big business of abortion.

The Pence remark may go away more or less ignored, at least until the debates. The press is still not used to paying much attention to Mike Pence. This should give him time to prepare a good response for the dems when they try to take him down with it.

Go change your Depends.

I agree with his sentiments. But it plays into the media's hands...portraying him as unbalanced, as Hillary says the same in her speech.

Now watch some TV Morning show reporter ask Mike Bloomberg; “Was Donald Trump maybe talking about you? Do you think he meant that he wanted to hit you really hard? Do you feel threatened?”

Trump needs to stay focused on the task at hand. Look presidential and act presidential. In between you can pick your spots and give them a good jab, but every time he says something like this his opponents use it to make him look unhinged. This plays right into the media narrative about Trump. This is going to be one of Hillary’s main attacks on Trump - his demeanor makes him dangerous as Commander in Chief. Trump shouldn’t play to that.

The right move with Nanny Doomberg would have simply been to dismiss him as not important enough to be worth a response.

Bloomberg is a dispicable little Schmeckel! He seems to think that because he’s rich, he can dictate how people live.

Might as well just be yourself.

It’s exactly like the “Please hack Hillary’s e-mails, Russia” kerfuffle.

A needless, self-inflicted wound (though not as great as the earlier one.)

A Republican presidential candidate doesn’t have to sell Republicans. (We all remember the outrageous Shooting Fifth Avenue Pedestrian comment. It was probably true) They are sold and will stay sold.

It is the 60% of the electorate that is outside the party who need selling. Threatening an opponent even figuratively earns a zero-percent return.

When is Manafort going to shut down Trump’s Twitter account? he was supposed to get “presidential” months ago.

REALLY stupid thing for him to say. Can’t he just stop already?

Only gives Trump 'free' media time to explain... Exposure will be on him, about who the speakers were, and far less time for the 'first' woman BS. Everyone with a brain, knows what Trump meant. He might even mention that young man Rich that worked for the DNC, and was literally hit recently....

Whatever.

Are you pro-life / anti-abortion (murder)? If so, you should be supporting Pence’s statement. If not, I think Mr. Robinson (cc’d because I mentioned him) may have something to say.

Well, welcome to the Big Leagues, Mr. Trump, or what's left of 'em.

It's just the future of the once and future Free World at stake, thousands, maybe millions of lives...

No pressure.

No, I think we’ll be hearing more about this every day as the media Democrats are desperate to make something like this a distraction and focus point because she can’t win on amnesty and terrorism.
