That’s exactly how I recall Bill Clinton operated. He had a rapid response to everything Republicans said and did. McCain, during his presidential race refused to enter the fray, as did Romney, and both let the democrat spin get accepted as the truth. Both Bushes did the same thing as well. It was beneath them to counter the lies of the Left, and to this day so many citizens know so much that isn’t true.
Past Republicans have taken this patrician attitude of “we’ll let history judge.” I remember hearing that sort of crap from Bushies a lot. The problem is that politics is also played out in the here and now, and we can’t wait 50+ years to see what historians may say. The political struggles need to be won now, and that includes the propaganda wars in the media. GW Bush let his administration pretty much be wrecked by the Democraps and the MSM without fighting back and correcting the record.

Clinton got his crazy surrogates on every talk show slamming George HW Bush and Bob Dole. From lunatic Carville to lunatic Begala, to the rest of the loudmouths that worked for him. And the adoring liberal media loved to hear them blab away. “The War Room” as they called it. Tweeting ain’t gonna cut the mustard. Trump needs to have Miller, Manafort, Pierson, Gingrich, Huckabee, and anyone else who’ll call out this vile, mean bitch on all the cable channels slamming her left and right. The only problem is the liberal media will not let them on the way they let Trump bashers on. And that’s what any Republican is up against.
