If David Duke Won, Wouldn’t Republicans Have To Vote For Him? [NeverTrtump]
The Federalist ^ | July 27, 2016 | David Harsanyi

Posted on 07/27/2016 1:05:04 PM PDT by C19fan

When David Duke announced in the Louisiana last week that he would be running for Senate, GOP Chairman Reince Priebus swiftly sent out a tweet assuring America that the former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard’s “hateful bigotry [has] no place in the Republican Party; the RNC will never support his candidacy under any circumstance.”

David Duke will not win. Voters in Louisiana elected a liberal democrat last year.

I would never vote for Duke even though I believe there are too many minority racists in the United States. There’s no reason to be racist despite what others say and do.

I have listened to many interviews with David Duke. I can never figure out what he says that is so racist.

This author identifies as a Libertarian and is apparently a Cruz fanboy. Maybe Mr. Duke might want to add “Libertarian” to his repertoire ;)

Don't forget the "Conscience of the Senate" Robert 'KKK' Byrd.

Thanks, I almost forgot about Robert “KKK” Byrd. It seems that all the racist politicians are on the Democrat side.

I listened to some of what he had to say, too. Apparently, according to Duke, he was a kkk member for about 3 years over 30 years ago. People grow and change their minds about a lot of things over 30 years time, and Duke claims that he smartened up. He’s not part of that any more.

There was a video he released shortly after Trump was thought to accept an endorsement from Duke, the claim of endorsement was a leftie lie. Duke never offered one nor did Trump accept what didn’t even exist. It was then that Duke explained himself in the video.

I keep hearing a lot of mud slinging, but no mud to back up the sling.

If it’s there, how about presenting it?

These days, Duke is parroting the segregation/separatist ideas that the New Black Panthers, et al, are known to support. Evidently it's okay for them to demand such things, but it's racist for a white guy to support them.

No kidding. Now if you fatten him up and change his last name to Byrd, a democrat might.

My but what a leftist “argument”.

If David Harsanyi fell in the forest and there was nobody around to hear, would anyone care?

People should certainly be able to make mistakes, correct them, and move on. That we now live in a one strike culture is a problem that has resulted in many felons who have served their time having problems getting on with their lives.

That being said though, if a person joins a hate group, they should not stand for elected office. There are many other ways they can have a positive impact if they so choose. Becoming a job creator comes to mind as an example.

I remember when Duke ran for Governor in LA and won the nomination in a very low turn-out primary. He went head to head with the former Governor Edwin Edwards in the general election. Edwards was notoriously corrupt (later convicted and sentenced on bribery). One of the popular bumper stickers many Republicans had was “Vote for the Crook, It’s Important!”

In Duke’s case, Republicans would prefer the Democrat to a KKK guy, and so would vote for the Democrat. In Trump’s case, the knock on them is they were basically supporting Hillary. The difference is that any Republican should prefer Trump to Hillary.

Not a surprise that the Hillary lovers are trying the race baiters stock and trade. They did it in Mississippi for their candidate cockroach.

They can scream principals until hell freezes over but this bunch are either as delusional and suicidal as liberals or they really are liberals.

Duke was trying to, or starting to organize a European or white American Naacp type organization. That’s when the feds decided to out him in jail. Not sure why it was okay for blacks, but not whites.

Comparing Trump to Hitler Is Worst Kind of Hate Speech
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-marshall-crotty/comparing-trump-to-hitler_b_9334668.html

I guess they are trying to find a new evil to compare Trump to - but David Duke didn’t kill six to ten million people. Trump hasn’t killed anyone, though one can argue Hillary Clinton’s Middle East on fire by taking out all the dictators has killed hundreds of thousands.

I confess! I am a libertarian Republican and initially was torn between Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. But, Paul never gained any traction, while Cruz actually won a few states, which, looking back, was a major accomplishment given how amazing a campaigner Donald Trump turned out to be.

My confession, however, is limited. At the time, I didn’t know that Cruz’ father killed JFK and then sired a child who would be the Manchurian Candidate of 2016. But, Cruz cracked up, didn’t he, in Cleveland. It was like we were all Frank Sinatra witnessing Laurence Harvey destroy himself.

No such strong repudiation of the black racist organizations who are currently inspiring the hatred and murder of whites and white cops. Globalists will be globalists.
