Civil law is mostly a shakedown racket. There might be a fraction of a percent justice in there, but damn little. Insurance companies control the settlements, for the most part. It costs at least 50 grand to win a case, and probably averages more like 150 grand.

Shakedown, exactly! Sadly most people do not understand that these lawsuits only enrich the lawyers and end up costing the consumer in higher cost of goods and services.
