Trump or Clinton? Neither, millennials say
Merced Sun-Star ^ | July 26, 2016 | Thaddeus Miller and Emily Kohlman

If a recent gathering in a Merced park is any sign, playing “Pokémon Go” and lamenting over the presidential candidate options for the November election are part of the life of a millennial.

And that matters because millennials, which the Pew Research Center defines as people born between 1981 and 1998, hold a particularly powerful deck of cards this election. Many of them say they are exasperated with their options for president in 2016.

Aaron Lequia of Merced, who plays the mobile game in local parks, said he’s struggling with how to cast his vote in November. Ever since he first heard Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders speak, he was sold.

“I’ve been a Bernie supporter for like 10 years,” the 31-year-old said.

Wearing a black flat cap and sunglasses atop his red-bearded face, the registered Democrat said he’d be “hard pressed” to ever vote Republican. But neither is he excited about Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential candidate.

Until they stop wasting their time playing Pokémon Go, and get to work, I don’t think anyone is going to respect their opinions about politics or economics.

Vote third part or stay home.

I’m good with either one they go for.

Conventional wisdom says that the libertarian takes votes from the republican, except for a few druggies who vote libertarian for legal marijuana. This year, I’m worried about how many socialist voters we are facing, but at least the libertarian will get many of those votes instead of them supporting Hillary.

Good news for our side but not for SEHRC.

Further, if you're a millennial who never served her country and you only get your news from anti free speech sites like Facebook, you aren't aware enough of the real issues to qualify as a voter. Therefore . . . . stay home or vote Trump because regardless of what your hep cat metrosexual friends may tell you - - - communism ain't cool - at all, and neither is Islamic Supremacist bathouse boys.

Act like somebody who was born here.

Bernie though, had no trouble tossing him and his supperters under the bus advocating they vote for Clinton now.

Far too many millenials are communists, thanks to the Long March through the institutions. Well fine, let them enjoy their socialism after I’m gone. The only way they are going to learn is by experiencing it for themselves. No amount of logic or reason will talk them out of it.

If they stay home that’s a win for us.

If a significant percentage of Bernie supporters do not vote for Hillary she is going to lose.

I’ve been a Bernie supporter for like 10 years

So a California kid was closely following the career of an obscure Vermont congressman back in 2006? If you say so...

Gotta call bullsh** on that one though. A 21-year old living in California in 2006 likely thought that Bernie Sanders was "that guy on the buckets of chicken".

Most will stay home. These are them same folks who forget to set the alarm, don’t turn in homework, call in sick, blow deadlines, miss appointments, ect.

I bet most aren’t even registered to vote.

They are literally the least reliable voting block.

They should just write in Bernie’s name if they feel that strongly about both of these candidates.

You’re right. I love your message on the millennials. A lot of them are turning communist.

Pretty sure most of them voted for BO as others have already been saying so if they all stay home and let their parents do the voting that only hurts Hillary.
