Donald Trump: Marilyn Mosby 'should prosecute herself'

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump had a critical suggestion for State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby on Wednesday: "I think she ought to prosecute herself."

Trump was speaking at a press conference in Florida at the same moment Mosby appeared in West Baltimore to explain her decision to drop three remaining cases against police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray.

"I think it was disgraceful what she did and the way she did it, and the news conference that she had where they were guilty before anybody knew the facts," Trump said.

In May 2015, Mosby charged six officers involved in the arrest and transport of Freddie Gray, who died weeks earlier from a spinal injury he suffered in the back of a police van. She announced the charges in a surprise news conference on the steps of the War Memorial in Baltimore, one day after the police department completed its own investigation into whether officers acted improperly.

Trump credited the police officers for persevering through four trials over the past seven months. A judge acquitted three of the officers this year after the first of the trials ended in a hung jury last December.

"I give a lot of credit to those police officers, who probably could have made a deal," Trump said. "You had victory after victory after victory, and she had no chance.

"She should prosecute herself," he repeated. "She should be held accountable. ... I think she is a disgrace to the world of prosecutors for what she did."

Removing one more nail out of the coffin of Political Correctness.

When someone is wrong you can criticize them, regardless of race.

Actually she should be charged with prosecution misconduct.

Trump continues to speak the truth to the fatuous toadies in the media, who continually go along with the false narrative of those warring on everything Americans once believed in.

One other point. Who are the most aggrieved victims of Ms. Mosby? It is a close call between the Police put through this insulting procedural ordeal, and the law abiding Black citizens in Baltimore's inner city; but frankly, I think the greatest damage is to the hopes of the latter.

To the extent that Ms. Mosby's crusade to punish the Police discourages quality applicants for Police jobs in Baltimore, from even applying; those, who look to the Police to keep their neighborhoods safer, clearly lose. The potential--and probable--damage to the safety of tens of thousands of people is certainly a major concern to any decent person--and it is a pity that the media does not discuss that more often.

The decline in the quality of Baltimore journalism, since the passing of H. L. Mencken is very, very apparent.

Genius! The media will be stuck on what they think he really meant by “prosecute” for the rest of the week, to the end of the convention. This and the accusations of a Russian alliance locks all of the publicity up for Trump. The Guccifer 2.0 release will be more fuel for the fire.

"Marilyn Mosby 'should prosecute herself"

I disagree. Based on her track record, she'd never get a conviction.
