Normandy Priest Slaughter: Europe Teeters On The Brink

Still reeling from a truck attack in the French resort city of Nice on Bastille Day that left 84 dead and more than 300 wounded, France was hit yet again with Islamic terrorism, this time in the northern French town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray. The carnage began at approximately 9am on Tuesday when two knife-wielding Muslim terrorists, chanting their battle cry of “Allahuakbar,” burst into a church during morning mass and took hostages. They then proceeded to murder, Jacques Hamel, an 86-year-old priest by slitting his throat before being shot dead by police snipers. Another hostage, gravely wounded by the attackers, is reported to be hovering between life and death. The remaining three hostages survived unharmed.

When we went into the middle east, the muslin soldiers threw down their weapons, got on their knees and cried like scared babies. That’s what bullies do when they face a formidable opponent. It wouldn’t take much to cause these terrorists to back down. Merely a show of power and standing one’s ground will do it.

They don’t care about their women and kids, only their hope of an eternity of sex with whatever matters to them; that and their false pride.

I’m sorry to say I disagree with you. The purpose of these attacks is to beat the Europeans into submission, to so cow them that they won’t put up any resistance as Sharia is enacted and their societies become increasingly Islamic.

Sadly this is working. Just a few days ago some German government hack suggested mandatory classes in Islamic traditions for native Germans as a way to deal with this problem. There’s some cultural confidence for you!

We had quotas by national origin from 1924 to 1965. Granted, it discriminated in favor of northern and western Europeans and against all others. However, the purpose of the quotas was to maintain the United States population at the same proportions that existed in 1920. It gave approximately 40 years, in which period communities with Italians, Poles, Greeks, etc., were no longer supplemented by their fellow countrymen. This action facilitated assimilation. The second generation spoke flawless English, received a good education, public or parochial, and entered the mainstream of American society. Without such restrictions, this country would have received millions of immigrants, mostly from Eastern Europe and Italy, fleeing depression, war, Communism, and Nazism. These immigrants would have reinforced existing ethnic neighborhoods and retarded the process of assimilation. The eastern and southern European communities would have remained culturally distinct and isolated from mainstream society.

There is nothing wrong with restricting immigration from outside Europe. There is a world of difference between a white Pole or Italian from an historically Christian country and a brown Muslim Middle Easterner. Not all of the latter are terrorists, of course, but they are not assimilable. Historically, there has been considerable migration within Europe. Benjamin Disraeli was a Sephardic Jew; Eamon de Valera, born in New York, was one-half Spanish; Angela Merkel is partially of Polish ancestry. However, Muslims are not assimilable unless they renounce Islam, a dangerous action anywhere there is a large community of them. Barring further immigration from outside Europe is a first step. Expelling resident aliens is a good followup. Offering Muslims and other nonwhites who are citizens financial incentive to return to their ancestral homelands is a third.

However, Europe will need leaders like Marine Le Pen and Geert Wilders in power to accomplish these goals.

The National Origins Quota, signed into law by the great Calvin Coolidge, are entirely defensible. As you say, it merely sought to maintain the existing ethnic balance at the time. Of course today defending this law will get you called a racist, but it was a good law, and a successful one that helped assimilate the preceding mass wave of immigrants from Europe.

While it’s almost inconceivable that a similar law would be passed today, we should at least aim for the repeal of 1965’s Hart-Cellar, and replace it with something that ends chain migration and caps immigration at levels like we had between 1924 and 1965.
