AUSTRALIA has officially gone two years without people smugglers successfully bringing an illegal boat into the country.
.....
The governments uncompromising turnback policy has led to 28 boats being turned around, with 700 people on board, since Operation Sovereign Borders was implemented when the Coalition came to power in 2013.... nobody has died at sea during the operation.
.....
It is stark contrast to the 50,000 people who arrived illegally on more than 800 boats during six years of Labor. More than 1200 people died at sea during the period.....

I like that wall...
Border control works.
Good for you, Australia.
It is easier for us to secure our border than it is for the US - but anybody who argues that choosing to do so and making the political stand to say “No!” doesn’t make a huge difference just has to look at the example here.
And the best thing about it is that it is compassionate and humane as well. This policy is stopping people from risking their lives and losing their lives in often dangerous crossings.

That they know of.
We will shut it down and send illegals back by the millions— very soon. God Bless Donald!!
We should copy Australia and build a moat. Or at least build a moat in front of the wall, just to make sure. ;-)
It isn’t absolutely impossible for a small boat to get to Australia from Indonesia without being detected but it is not likely - and there were hundreds coming between 2009 and 2013 so even if a handful have got through, the policy would have been overwhelmingly successful.
I think it’s Indonesia that simply TOWS THEM FURTHER OUT TO SEA..?
I think everyone should do that.
How do they Know that?
What a concept! You mean that if government policies don’t provide incentives to come illegally, people stop coming?
It isn’t fair though; they have man eating sharks and poisonous jellyfish to help them along. Our Mexican border, for example. Emus trained to go for the eyes would stop that shit in a hurry. But no, Feds tell border control to stand down and they do. Mexico has already made it clear that the door does not swing both ways. Time to train some big ass birds.
We're dealing with a lot of ocean these people need to cross and it's not incredibly busy so there's not a lot of other traffic to hide their approach which takes several days.
I hear Australia is being flooded by legal Asian immigrants so say goodby to Euro-Australia in two-three decades. White people are not allowed to have their own nations. Chinese can. Indians can. Japanese can....but not whites. Not in Germany, Not in Australia, not anywhere.
I agree with the sentiment that it seems that multiculturalism is something we are supposed to want when many other countries don't, but we're not being flooded - maybe in a century, this might be close to being an Asian country, if things don't change, but it's not going to happen in a few decades.
Hope so and good luck. For sure you are keeping out the boaters/mostly Muslims asylum seekers who were not a plus for Australia.
Which is why most if not all are intercepted at sea.
Second the N Australian cost is inhospitable and a long way from Indonesia so SIEV Vessels tend to make for Offshore islands: Either Christmas Island, which is the main offshore processing centre, or Ashmore and Cartier Islands, where ACV Ashmore Guardian is on station 330 days a year
Both these options result in denied entry, forever (or until Labor/Green get back in government)
That they know of.
Yeah, and likewise: "Nobody has died at sea during the operation" - that they know of.
Regards,
The United States and Europe should take note. A no compromise policy against illegal immigration is the only way to stop it, or at least seriously reduce it.
