Alaska’s credit rating was downgraded by Moody’s Investors Services, in the midst of its multi-billion-dollar deficit. Moody’s dropped the Last Frontier’s general obligation rating from Aa1 to Aa2.
The outlook remains negative, according to the bond credit rating business. This marks the 49th State’s third credit decline from leading global credit rating agencies, that includes downgrades by Standard and Poor’s Rating Services and Fitch Ratings.

In addition, Moody’s downgraded Alaska’s lease-appropriation bonds to Aa3 from Aa2, along with its moral obligation bonds to A1 from Aa3. These two bonds are consistently ranked one to two grades lower than the 49th State’s general obligation rating.

What we need is a strong candidate (that’s not Miller, he’s weak, he’d have lost the Senate race in 2014 if he had won that primary) as the REPUBLICAN nominee in 2018, to defeat Walker.

It’s Walker’s fault, but her unconscionable support for him may have been the difference in close race.

Bill Walker (Alaska) is an “I” the same way Bernie Sanders and Angus King are. An “I” in this instance just an emaciated “D”.
Governors are only part of the story.
I can tell you our R Governor here in IL is doing his best on the issue of the budget at least (he’s a RINO but not on that). The rat supermajority legislature is obstructing him, but he prevented them from hiking taxes.
I know the Maine House (D) is responsible for the deficit there, the Governor LePage is a good guy, the dems there hate his guts.
Kentucky still has organized crime (Dixie Mafia) democrats in charge of their State House, if Bevin gets a GOP House elected this year I think they can get the state in order.
The RINO Governor in MA is almost powerless thanks to a 90% rat legislature.
NM has a rat Senate.
KS is GOP controlled, but is full of RINOs. They should cut spending not attack Brownback for supporting needed tax cuts. Libs in both parties really have it out for him. And the damn courts won’t allow them to reform education spending, the main problem.
The R Governor in WY is a RINO, I’ve not no excuse for them or OK.
NE’s leg is non-partisan officially but majority GOP, non-partisan is not good, it makes it easier for libs to get elected and get lib stuff done.
Louisiana is in a sorry state, a lot of Republicans in the leg are just dems who switched for political expediency, they backstabbed Bobby Jindal, and now they have a lib dem Governor who’s beholden to the BLM crowd.
