PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- With mothers of police violence victims on the stage and anti-gun protesters in the streets, Hillary Clinton and Democrats are giving gun control and efforts to curb police violence a starring role at their summer convention.
"They're too easily accessible to everyone, even children. You can go out on the street and get a gun," said Terrez McCleary of Philadelphia, who lost her 21-year-old daughter to gun violence in 2009 and was among a few hundred people held a rally against gun violence Tuesday in Philadelphia's Logan Square.

The heck with the street. Most of the guns I find lying in gutters and on sidewalks are poorly made. I get most of my good ones by dragging the lake bottoms, after boating accidents...

If blacks had owned guns in 1861 the Civil War might well have been an uprising of farm hands against farm owners instead of state against state.

This has been brewing for a long time. Back in the 60s in the South local cops would tell us that if a black person (not the term used at the time) tried to brake into your house and you had to shoot him, drag the body half way through the window before you called the cops.
It just recently occurred to me the cops always used a “black burglar” in their advice to the citizens. Hey, they were the ones with the stats.
Now, now, the AP is making progress. By coining the term ‘police violence’ they have for the first time acknowledged that it takes a human to initiate ‘gun violence.’ Still a ways to go, however, until they get to ‘criminal violence.’
I saw Heather MacDonald getting grilled by a lefty black criminologist on CSPAN Sunday night. Heather said 2% of shootings in NYC are committed by whites.
