Ruger sold a lot of Mini 14 s and Security Sixes to the French police
in the 80s.
Their cops are still using the rifles. They are light, compact, reliable
and paid for.
Have heard that some of the detectives and brass still carry the
revolvers, particularly older guys who were used to them.

I love them, but as far as a firefight goes, they are still essentially 1930s technology.
