Ted Cruz Favorability Rating Collapse Confirmed in National and Ohio Post-RNC Convention Polls
Gateway Pundit ^ | 07/26/2016 | Kristinn Taylor

Ted Cruz’s failure to endorse rival Donald Trump for president at last week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio has apparently caused his favorability rating among GOP voters to collapse, according to a national survey and an Ohio poll.

An NBC News/Survey Monkey nationwide poll released Tuesday and a PPP survey of Ohio Republicans released Monday confirms the shocking collapse in Cruz’ favorability rating among Republican voters following the convention seen in a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.

CNN/ORC:

“Cruz’s move, however, appears to have backfired. While 60% of Republican voters had a positive impression of the former presidential candidate before the convention, just 33% have one now.”

NBC News/Survey Monkey:

“Ted Cruz, who scored a strong round of boos when he declined to endorse Trump in his speech to the RNC, was not viewed kindly by Republicans voters. Though Cruz finished second in the GOP primary race, just 28 percent of members of his own party now view him favorably; 68 percent now view him unfavorably. Clearly, his performance at the GOP convention was not received well by his party.”

PPP Ohio:

“The biggest loser from the convention is Ted Cruz though. He has an 18/65 favorability rating with Ohio voters, making him by far and away the least popular figure in our poll. Even among Republicans he’s at just 23/61. We asked GOP voters who they would support in a hypothetical primary contest between Trump and Cruz, and Trump wins out 61-19.”

You put it better than I ever could- I, too, was excited by his constitutionalism !. I thought he was the real deal-
i’m chalking Cruz up to a shady character-talks a good game & most likely has sound beliefs but is bedded with hardcore establishment types-. He climbed the ladder on their backs . I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a offshore account somewhere

Hell’s Bells, Cruz is in bed with the globalists. Whadaya mean, “his refusal to be bullied by the GOP”.

All that Cruzin’ theater, against the GOP, was for you rubes who fell for it.

Otherwise, you got the Bible thumping, flag waving and the Constitution chatter, but failed to see that in fact Fredo never harmed a hair on the head of the globalists or their agenda, in the Senate.

He hid behind cloture votes for appearances sake, for the rubes.

The SOB talked immigration enforcement all day long to the rubes, while parroting the Chamber of Commerce lines, with his “pathways for legalization” to reward those who invaded the USA from Central and South American illegals.

He quintupled the Gang of 8 recommendation for 65,000 foreign workers. Fredo recommended 350,000!

You are either are a fool or a globalist to appreciate this TROJAN HORSE, named Ted Cruz.

Wake up.

Cruz was reviled by the Bushes, however, he kissed up his performance to suit their purposes. After that, Bush rejected sticking him in the White House as a staffer.

Fredo is a putz, who has virtually no friends, and it is remarkable he got so far he did. It was on the backs of some really naïve conservatives, who failed “utterly” to vet this cull, or demand anything of him on his documents, background and research.

I know. I was one. I voted for this “conservative” poseur, in Texas, for the US Senate.

I appreciate his refusal to be bullied by the GOP.
You mean when he joined up with team Romney?

This is a man who - had he simply continued his early support of Trump - could have been the next Vice President of the United States and the odds-on favorite to succeed Trump in 2020 or 2024.

A gigantic strategic blunder on his part. Now he'll spend his remaining career on talk shows, telling everybody how great he could have been.

I so agree! They did most certainly force that pledge down TRUMP’s throat, and these bums couldn’t wait to take that pledge.

No wonder TRUMP melted that field of Goo Goo bars. He has honesty and transparency!

OK, what does that mean? Clearly, it isn’t modern kid-talk for “hey, I think that you’re really cool,” but I’ll be damned if I know what the girl was saying.

Will you appreciate a Hillary presidency also if Cruz and his compadre never trumpets hand her the election? Hurt feelings apparently mean more than America? I appreciate someone who loves America more than personal pride. Even Cruz admits his refusal to endorse was personal not principle.

Hard to believe Cruz's dopey middle-finger speech to Republicans and conservatives didn't reinforce or buoy his favorability rating.

I'm sure he gave a rip, as witnessed by his shamelessly palling around with anti-Constitution ZERO and his Commie cabal aboard Air Force 666.

I wonder if Levin was jealous.
