My stepson worked at a grocery store. He said he could spot an EBT cart a mile away, based on the food in it - soda chips, frozen food dominated.

Or . . . it could be a college student living off campus. My cart was filled with 69 cent Totino's pizzas, $1.29 Banquet TV Dinners, chips and eight packs of soda/pop.

My sister worked at a grocery store a few years back and said that it was extremely common for folks on EBT cards to use them for pricier specialty food that most regular folks can’t afford to buy that often, specifically lobster, shrimp, crab legs, etc.
