Why would the lefties be interested in that?
The Crusades were a frigging joke.
They wrecked more Christian nations than Islamic.
They barely took the Holy Land, and we are talking about an area barely the size of Portugal.
They didnt hold it for very long.
But for some reason it’s seen as the ISIS of the 12 century.
In his book Fear God and Take Your Part, 1916, Theodore Roosevelt wrote:
“Christianity is not the creed of Asia and Africa at this moment solely because the seventh century Christians of Asia and Africa had trained themselves not to fight, Whereas the Moslems were trained to fight.
Christianity was saved in Europe solely because the peoples of Europe fought.

I never understand this reasoning.
The Crusades were almost a thousand years ago.
I don’t know the full details of the history of the Crusades.
But, if for sake of argument, we accept the premise that Christians fought wars of aggression against Muslims, and were violent then, how does it follow that this draws a “moral equivalence” between Christian violence almost a millennium ago with Muslim atrocities happening today???
