Democrats Fear ‘Secret Trump Vote’ That Doesn’t Show Up in Polling
Praxis ^ | Matthew Sheffield

Posted on 07/26/2016 1:07:06 AM PDT by RatherBiased.com

Throughout the GOP primaries, online and automated surveys—which are generally less respected within the industry—indicated higher levels of Trump support than live ones. The discrepancy may have been a large reason why his Republican elite opponents refused to take the former reality star’s campaign seriously before it was too late.

A similar dynamic appears to be taking shape in the general election. Instead of taking false comfort, Democratic elites are sounding the alarm about the Shy Trump Supporter Effect.

Liberal pollster Celinda Lake is warning of a “secret Trump vote” which she discerned from differences between automated and live surveys conducted for the general election match-up.

“The pattern is in the online surveys, even if you control for demographics, Trump does three to nine points better than in telephone surveys,” Lake said in an interview with the Washington Examiner. She also believes that there are many blue-collar white voters who typically don’t vote in elections who might be interested in supporting Trump’s unconventional Republican campaign.

Worry about this voting bloc may have played a role in Hillary Clinton’s decision to pick Virginia senator Tim Kaine as her running mate despite her difficulty fending off a surprisingly strong primary challenge from progressive Vermont senator Bernie Sanders. While he has some liberal stances, Kaine has consistently shown an ability to get at least some white conservatives to vote for him.

For months I kept my preference for Trump relatively quiet, relying on the “secret handshake” and “password/countersign” before opening up to people about it. I can see the potential here for a very serious “Bradley effect.”

In my state no one in their right mind would publicly state they are for Trump in a public setting or to any stranger.

Will he win the state?—probably not.

Will be beat the polling by a substantial margin?—definitely

Ref. Kaine, “.... don’t get me started on his voting record.”.....

His voting record and his history are FAR MORE IMPORTANT to consider than his personal appearance. He may be a slob but he is one crooked S.O.B., just like Hitlary.

When horrible people launch the racist/bigot charge at normal people, said normal people will learn to smile, nod, and keep their opinions to themselves.

Then, said normal people see 20,000 +++ attend a Trump primary rally, and realize they are the ones in the majority

Kaine was the best Hillary could get. Who wants to be associated with a known criminal and a person who takes vengeance on her enemies.

It would make anybody think twice.

Kudos to Trump for taking Poconhontas out early, before she was selected by Hillary.

The fact that not many people know who Kaine is gives Trump a big opening. Trump will tell voters who Kaine is and There is plenty in his background that can be damaging to him.

I think pollsters are going to have to change their game. I don’t have a land line and I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize in my cell. I can also block unwanted callers on my cell. In short, I can’t be reached by pollsters. I suspect I am more the rule than the exception.

That said, it would seem any landline telephone based poll would have an inherent bias based on the profile of people who have landlines.

I saw him on 60 Minutes with Clinton. He was practically sitting in her lap. He looked like an adoring Bata Male who would be perfectly content squatting on his haunches like a monkey and grooming her. When he did respond, he came across as definite low energy type, much like Jeb.

About Rush Limbaugh you are wrong, people would tell him thank you finally someone saying the samee things I think and say, that’s why they listened,up until then they thought only they thought about things from an American viewpoint.
They never heard anyone in the media say those things before that’s WHY he became so popular

Yeah I was wondering about his appeal too. Never heard of him before, but my first impression is that he’s sleazy...maybe it’s just association with Hillary that gives me that impression...but he just looks and acts sleazy to me.

Do NOT forget those down ballot votes now is the time to flush RINOS like Ryan, McNasty, Gramnesty out of the woodwork.

I’ve a US Rep 8th District TN Stephen Fincher to replace (retiring), 5 choices, 2 long time party hacks former mayor and AG and GOP state chair, 1 position climber only county commission experience, 1 supported by Right to Life but not LEO backed State Rep wanting to climb up, and the Register of Deeds for Shelby Co, TN, small government, fiscal conservative, CONSERVATIVE period, keeps his word, Pro-life, NRA supported Tom Leatherwood.
Repeal DUMBOCARE. Good Christian family man. Most important is he keeps his word.

We are going for the win in Maryland. I will probably be coordinating the campaign in Prince George’s County. If we win, we might be looking at 45 states. If we only do much better than usual it will be a 40 state victory.

Alternate Delegate, Maryland CD-04

I don't talk to ANYONE about politics except those I know who are voting Trump. I would hang up on a phone survey. No bumper stickers, yard signs or email forwarding. I can tell you that there is a groundswell of common sense people from all walks of life and all minority people.

I think Trump is going to win by a pretty good margin if he stays on message.
