I think some of it is a product of brain chemistry--the genetic factors that predispose us to have certain personalities also predispose us to favor particular parties.
For many of us, the appeal of conservatism is that it is based on logic and pragmatism. Liberalism is based on feelings and desires. For instance, we look at poverty and note that massive give-aways don't work, we want a different answer. Liberals look at poverty and feel that we are being wonderfully generous with all the give-away programs. They genuinely do not care that the programs don't work--they are generous and show they care, that is what matters to them.
Whether you prefer logic and reason or feelings and desires is the result of inborn personality traits. It is difficult to teach a feeler to think.
KRLA now longer has Gallagher’s show, or runs it on delay late at night. I never liked that guy.
I really never heard of Hewitt. He showed up as a “conservative” questioner in the debates and I immediately realized he was a RINO and had no clue what a conservative was. He seems to have faded out and I don’t want him back.
I apologize for losing my temper to you last night.
He won it in 2012 also.
I stopped listening to Hewitt years ago when he was a big Romney cheerleader before the last big election. I was a pretty big fan of Levin but but he has gone off the rails over Trump. I have to turn the station when he comes on. Sad, because I really liked him.
I finally quit listening to Hugh after one too many of his delegate predictions - and magically, Donald Trump never got to 1,237 in all of Hugh’s calculations that he daily pulled out of his *something or other.*
Hack is an understatement. He is one of those guys who seems to think that yammering on day after day about some predicted event is going to make it happen, and reality be damned. Maybe he thinks he is mesmerizing and hypnotizing the public at large to make them do what he says (”You are getting very sleepy ....”).
