I often tell people that during dry spells, the only makeup water flowing into the reservoirs around here is treated sewage blasted with chlorine.

We get ours from the Quabbin Reservoir, which is not treated with chlorine, but ozone, and is quite good.

Thank God. There is not water in Hell.

But fish screw in it! (grin)

I think the Quabbin is spring fed. IIRC.

Dilution is the solution.

We have only one here that is spring fed and 600 feet deep.

The rest are from runoff from upstate reservoirs, surface water or they can pipe in “healthy” Hudson river water. LOL

One treatment plant dumps into a brook that has been totally destroyed by post-chlorine injection on its way to the reservoir(s).
